Eric Clapton - Cover I shot the sheriff
Probablemente este es el mejor cover de I shot the sheriff. Originalmente fue incluida en el álbum Burnin (1973) de Bob Marley & The Wailers y tan solo un año mas tarde Eric Clapton la incluyo en su disco 461 Boulevard (1974) y la dio a conocer al mundo, posicionándola en el primer lugar de Billboard Hot 100.

No podía dejar de agregar una versión en vivo de Bob Marley and The Wailers. Lamentablemente no encontré una versión en vivo con los coros de Peter Tosh, para mi gusto la preferida. Esta actuación fue realizada el 12 de Junio de 1980 en Dortmund, Alemania (País done Bob Marley, un año después, recibió un tratamiento contra el cáncer sin éxito) durante la gira Uprising tour, realizada para apoyar al álbum Uprising. Esta fue la ultima gira de Bob Marley, la cual incluyo 40 recitales y 11 países.
Durante una entrevista Bob Marley opino sobre la cancion: "I want to say 'I shot the police' but the government would have made a fuss so I said 'I shot the sheriff' instead... but it's the same idea: justice."
